In his engagement with Dikgosi last night, President Duma Gideon Boko outlined key government’s health reforms. The reforms include, the announcement of transitioning Sir Ketumile Masire Teaching Hospital-SKMTH to full public status, and relocating outpatients to relieve pressure on major hospitals.
Further operational shifts include transferring dialysis services from Gaborone’s Block 8 Clinic to SKMTH. The move would be supported by new public transport routes to improve public access.
To enhance rural diagnostics, mobile X-ray clinics will be deployed to Gumare, Bobonong, and Pandamatenga.
Ntlo ya Dikgosi Chairperson Kgosi Malope II welcomed the President’s proactive engagement with Dikgosi, and affirmed the House’s commitment to collaborative national development.
