The Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis, (BIDPA) recently held a School Essay Writing Competition in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Kgalagadi Region aimed at empowering learners to develop solid research skills for the future. The competition was held under the theme; “Developing future researchers; A prerequisite for a Knowledge Based Economy.”
As a research institution tasked with the responsibility to research and provide evidence while at the same time building capacity and providing training on how to carry out research, BIDPA found it fit to partner with the district to hold this competition.
Through its Corporate Social Responsibility program, BIDPA decided to give the Kgalagadi District learners the opportunity to improve their research skills. The theme resonates well with our national aspirations of becoming a knowledge-Based Economy where research skills will be valuable.
